Government Architecture  Thomas Patterson   This building is called a “bouleuterion”. Its purpose was to house the “council of citizens” of a city state. A similar structure would have been used when the athenian government created the “Council of 500” which housed 50 members from each of the 10 of Athenian tribes.   In my design i have an entryway leading into a courtyard. Then trough  porch you would enter the theater where council meetings would take place. I imagine it would be funded trough taxation ginning that it is a governmental building. Residential Architecture  Hannah Roberts Elevation Plan There was a second level, especially for rooms that didn’t have a lot of activity. Any of the ancient greek homes are still seen in today’s architecture and floor plans. Many of the that went on back then we are still using today. Most homes today don’t have the courtyards which were replaced by hallways and large entry doors. A traditional 2-story home is still very popular today because you’re able to get a lot of space and a lot of rooms and function with a smaller amount on smaller lots because cities today have become very crowded that building a 2-story home can be cost effective. As population have increased over the years,  land has become more scarce and valuable so to make good use out of less space the 2-story traditional elevation plan still remains popular today.  Floor Plan  Ancient Greek homes had rooms for specific reasons. Athens, Ancient Greece Religious Architecture  Annalyn Markley The overall function of this building is to worship the god or goddess which this temple was made for. The ancient Greeks were very interested in sharing their respects to their gods and felt temples brought them closer to the immortals. Each temple would have slight differences according to the god or goddess it was made for. For example, the temple of Zeus in Olympia featured a giant statue of the Zeus while the temple of Athena had a statue of Athena. Elevation Plan   The elevation plan showcases steps going up to the main temple where one is met with five Doric columns on the facade and the ten Doric columns on the side of the temple. Above the columns is the entablature and the pediment. On the pediment, three statues are featured. If painted in it's original state, these statues would be very pigmented with bold and loud colors. However, overtime the color has faded to a white. Past the columns
